1. Encouraging People to Cancel: Fireside Chat with Truebill

If you haven’t been asleep for the past few years, you have heard the “buzz word,” transparency, very often. More specifically, transparency and access to our personal data as the EU came out with General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and closer to home, California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). More and more laws are being passed to protect the privacy of the consumer all because of companies not being transparent.

Truebill, an app that helps consumers cancel subscriptions, was the last company I would have guessed to be speaking at SubSummit. Can their success be a lesson for us all?

Truebill says it all with just one word, transparency. Being open and transparent from the beginning on how to cancel a subscription could improve customer retention by starting with a positive impression. Who would have thought that telling consumers how to cancel their subscription, at the point of sale, could be beneficial to retention and growth?

2. The Battle for Entertainment Subscribers’ Share of Mind

It seems like each day I hear of a new entertainment subscription launching. Scrolling through the cable channels has been replaced with jumping from subscription to subscription. When hearing about a new show, my first question is which streaming network? From Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime Video, HBO Max, Disney+, etc. it is not just about the content but the interface. I am intrigued to see how new platforms and existing platforms are changing to be captivating in both entertainment and usability.

What is often overlooked is that each show/movie must appeal to a portion of the platform’s audience, so it is important for them to understand their customer’s interests and demographics. Not only will this shape programming but help better target marketing campaigns.

LiftEngine has solutions that can help alleviate stress and give you the data and confidence needed to run your next campaign. Want to learn more about your customers? Request a sample of LiftEngine’s Customer Profile Report to see how we can help you!

3. How to Boost Your Brand Through a Modern PR Approach

Brand awareness can make or break a subscription company. Expressing your brand’s core values to your audience is important, especially with first impressions. I look forward to learning from Lindsey Palmer on her tools for perfecting your branding approach and message. When your message is set it is time to advertise.

Want to better understand how your marketing campaigns are performing? With limited confidence in third-party pixel/cookie analytics, it is recommended to run a Matchback Report. Also known as a Response Analysis, this report matches the customer orders during a campaign to the original marketing audience. This provides a better and more accurate analysis to help determine the best creative, brand messaging, and overall ROI.

 4. Pot Politics: Cannabis and Subscription

It is always exciting to hear about companies like Lucky Box Club’s journey in an emerging industry, even with all the red tape. They have all the normal challenges of being a subscription box company with the addition of a limited customer base due to federal/state regulations, geography, and company policies.

Lucky Box Club’s determined business growth and positivity in the face of regulation should be a motivator for us all in the data-driven marketing space, as we face new legislation like the CCPA.

5. The 2022 SUBTA Cube Awards

Nothing is better than being recognized for your achievements. Let us celebrate SUBTA Cube Award winners past and present together! Who can say no to some free happy hour and networking?

6. Scaling Performance Marketing for Subscription Businesses in 2022

Scaling your marketing is not easy, especially when you are busy running a successful subscription brand. It is important for companies to understand that even in success, marketing is always needed to keep a steady stream of new customers. All businesses should fully understand their current customers to help shift or improve their marketing strategies.

LiftEngine has the right solution for this, Acquisition Modeling. The best way to target new customers intelligently and efficiently is by advertising to those who look and act like your best customers. An Acquisition Model applies artificial intelligence and machine learning to build a profile of those best customers. We then apply that profile to our consumer database, comprised of over 279 million US consumers, to find those who most closely resemble the demographics, buying behavior, and interests of your most loyal patrons.
